HISTORY

Munedoo Chapter NSDAR was organized on May 18, 1903, at the home of Miss Margaret Smith. Miss Minnie Decker, formerly of Wau-Bun Chapter NSDAR, Portage, was the Organizing Regent. The name Munedoo was chosen because it is an Indian word for Great Spirit or Good Spirit. It comes from the Chippewa Indian word Munedoo-wok or Manitowoc.
